Note 1: The timings given for screen changes are typical. The standard screen used was a trend screen and allowed for the trend to backfill. Note the times do vary depending on the complexity of the configuration and the number of channels. The impact of this on the 6000s is much less but on the 5000s (5180V in particular), a trend screen may take in excess of 40s to complete with a heavy config. The 6000s have more memory for user screens and can handle more complex screens and images. The figures give an indication of the difference in performance rather than being an absolute specification.
More features as standard
The following features were optional on the 5000 and are now standard on the 6000:
  • 6 Groups
  • Bridge Lite
  • CSV Output
  • Email/SMS
  • Circular Chart (6100A and 6180A)
  • Reports (enabling ASCII text printing option)
  • Timers
  • Log Scales
Additional New Features
  • Audit Trail is a new option on the 6000. This feature provides Audit Trail and Recorded Logins, but does not include Electronic Signatures and password element controls (21 CFR Part 11 features) - these require the full Auditor package.
  • Job Search - quick search to find which jobs are driving certain events
  • Channel selection - multiple channels can be quickly added or removed from a group (e.g. Channel 1-48 enable) without the need to check individual channel boxes.
  • Customise - The ability to change the standard look of the unit - e.g. desktop color, text color, font size.
Diagnostics
  • Comms Diagnostics
The 6000s have enhanced diagnoatics including:
    • Network Ping from the instrument to a host
    • Addresses of Modbus Master instruments connected
  • Hardware Diagnostics
The 6000s have enhanced features for commissioning and fault finding. Pressing on the touch screen during the power-up phase accesses this diagnostics page.
    • Drive a relay
    • Drive an event input
    • Test a serial port
    • System summary - including software version, DRAM, SRAM, FLASH, MAC address, date and time
    • Display test
    • Touch Screen calibration
    • Special modes - switch the unit into Sales Demo Mode (enables all software options, power cycles every 4 hours)
